After forgiveness, what's next?

Contrary to what movies portray a lot, there's a place for forgiveness. If there were no forgiveness, there'd be no relationship. Every relationship would have died or being on a bomb about to explode.

However, we do forgive.

What happens after, do we return to the way things were or wait till time heals us and we can give a genuine smile of love?

From the perspective of the person who did bad, well after feeling remorse show that you're remorseful. Truly remorseful. And that, you understand what you did and offer a true apology. And it's the least you can do.

If you are wronged, let's face facts you're the one bearing it all. Whether you choose to forgive or not. Forgiveness entails you wiping off the wrong sometimes with tears that seem unending. You've cleared a debt owed to you.

If you don't forgive on the other hand, the debt is still owed and whatever you do to clear it without forgiveness will not heal you.

Revenge doesn't heal. Only brings a sense of Justice. And it's what the courts try to do as well.

After forgiveness, I believe that you should evaluate your relationship with a clear mind. Not when you're hurt. Cause somethings that you need to focus on will be blurred. Like how much you're really loved by that person.

Now, I feel like I've said a lot. But, all in all, I hope you forgive and after that, you'll find peace.
