The Prince of Egypt- Moses

We've all watched cartoons on Bible characters and we all have our favourite character. The story of Moses is one I watched with childhood fascination especially watching the parting of the Red Sea which is still one of my favourite miracles. When I think about it, I come to the conclusion that Moses is indeed one of the greatest characters of the Bible.

It's an amazing thing for a person to be referred to as the meekest person you know. It is more than an honor when compared with generations of before and after you can still be called the meekest person on Earth. Kpk😂😂. I can't imagine being compared with not only people in your generation but also people before your generation and after that. Wawuuuuuu. Only you.

There are two basic lessons I learnt from Moses. They are not really two but then in relation to the songs that are going to accompany this post. The title of the first one is  When you Believe.  And if you have watched the cartoon, you'll notice this point as the peak of the movie. I probably cried when watching this for the first time because after so much suffering the Israelites were finally free to go home.

When watching a movie and it gets to the emotional part and all, what really gets to me is perfect blend of the song. For me, watching Peter Parker die and hearing Scared of the Dark made me shed a few tears. It was just too perfect a sad moment. Same with the Israelites, it was a perfect good and bad thing because they had suffered so much. So much. But they were finally free.

There can be miracles
When you believe
Though hope is frail
It's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve
You will when you believe
Somehow when you believe

You just have to believe first, before you can achieve. That's the lesson. You can't have what you don't expect. Expectation produces realisation. We can hope for a better Nigeria and we'll work towards it. Try and believe. Just believe. Things will fall in place. Like Paulo Coehlo said, when you really want something, all forces of nature will work together for you to achieve it. Believe.

The second lesson is that we can achieve true relevance when God sees us that way or better still, it is  Through Heaven's Eyes that we can know our true worth. People always want to feel important. The drive for so many actions by people is a desire for acceptance. However, most people focus on what other people see them as. They (also me) quickly forget that God is the only one who sees the full picture and that because of that, His view is the only one we can trust.

This song led by Moses' Father-in-law shows us that relevance is not by the number of people that we have impacted, rather it is whatever we do that God sees and is proud of us.  It may also mean that a person may be said to be worthy, doing good things and all but because that's not what he or she is meant to do, it may not amount to much with God. For instance, imagine if after all Jesus came to do, He decided to be King and not to die for our sins. He would be relevant to the subjects but not to God( this example was taken from the Talk Show, True Talk with Tolu, Ella and Dara) 😁. So find your zone and shinneeeeeeeeeee.

How do you judge what a man is worth
By what he builds or buys
You can only judge with your eyes on Earth
Look through Heaven's Eyes
Look at your life through Heaven's Eyes

You may think that no one sees what you're doing and because of that, it's not relevant. Nahhh. That's not what makes it irrelevant. What makes it truly relevant is where the applause is from. The applause on Earth is nothing like the one from above. Keep on making the Heavens applaud.

Byeeeeeeeeeeee😍
