The Fourth Day of Christmas

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, Four calling birds three french hens two turtledoves, and a partridge in a pear tree.

The Fourth day of Christmas is a representation of the Four Disciples Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John. Who was instrumental in recording the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ. They, being inspired by the Holy Spirit gave an account of the Birth of Jesus, His early days, Baptism, Death, and resurrection. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are the ones always calling us to the life of Christ.

Long before technology came to be, birds were used to pass across messages. I'll still use them if I could but I don't know-how. It makes sense then that the birds calling to us will be none other than the authors of the Gospels.

When God was with us he did have a splendid time if you ask me. I mean I would love to have been part of the people who lived with Him.

FACT OF THE DAY: The Christmas wreath was originally hung as a symbol of Jesus. The holly represents his crown of thorns and red berries, His blood.

The first four books of the New Testament add flavor to the Bible as one gets to see God as a man. As one Pastor used to sing; God in a man who died for man and rose as a man... Matthew Mark Luke and John offer us insights into how Christ lived. I mean one of them captured Jesus' emotion by saying He wept. Needless to say, weeping is a deeper form of crying. They tell us that Jesus got angry. They tell us things that make us marvel and say that this is God. I just can't get it out of my mind that he said, render to Ceaser what's Ceasar and to God what Gods. His wisdom just blows my mind.

They explain divinity and humanity in a way that tells us that God is so humane that He feels our pain. He's not someone who just watches our afflictions from afar off, and He would do anything to win us back.

Come to think of it, the commitment these guys displayed was top notch. They wrote their gospels by hand. Mathew recorded the lineage of Jesus Christ from the early days of Abraham, credits to such historical documentation can only be given to the Holy Spirit for its Divine revelation of the past. John the Beloved, got revelations about heaven and the celestials, which he documented in the book of Revelation. If most of us were asked to do the same thing, we would refuse vehemently claiming different excuses, even with the ease available to us today. But they patiently accounted for the stay of Christ on earth.

You may not write a gospel but you can as well live a life that preaches the gospel.
